Synopsis Adilabad district is a botanically unexplored area in the Deccan region. It is the richest district in forest wealth. The flora of Adilabad district is given in this book. A total of 673 species have been enumerated. Among them angiosperms include 667 species belonging to 417 genera and 113 families while Pteridophytes constitute 6 species belonging to 5 genera and 5 families. The first part includes introduction, reasons for undertaking the work, topography and general features. Forests and vegetation, and past and present work. The second part includes systematic enumeration, which is arranged according to Bentham and Hooker's system. Keys are given for families, genera and species and these are of the indented type. Under each species the correct nomenclature brief description, distribution, flowering and fruiting season, vernacular names and specimen examined are given. References and index to families, genera and species are given at the end.
