Synopsis This book comprehensively deals with higher plants (Angiospermic plants) found, in the area of Anantapur district which lies between 13o 41' and 15o 14' north latitudes and 76o 47' and 78o 26 east longitudes. The district covers an area of 19130 sq. km. The species have been enumerated systematically. Dichotomous keys have been provided to the families, genera and species which are mostly artificial. The systematic treatment under each family includes the following : dichotomous key to the genera, name of the genus with author's name, detailed key to the species, name of the species with original citation to latest international code of botanical nomenclature, synonym if necessary to connect the name with Hooker's 'Flora of British India' and Gamble's 'Flora of Presidency of Madras', brief description showing primarily characters not reflected in the key, its distribution in the district, flowering and fruiting season, vernacular name and local use.
