A result of interactions with scholars of institutes in South-east Asia, the volume intends to examine areas of academic research and policy research n relations between India and South-east Asia. With information on various on institutes in the region, it focuses on India’s engagement with South-east Asia. With articles and country reports on Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Malaysia, the publication analyses the significance if historical cultural ties between India and South-east Asia, security and strategic dimensions of India’s engagement with the region, and India’s economic ties with the region, focusing on the Look East Policy. A focus is on the greater Mekong subregion as well—economic growth and human security of indigenous peoples there and growth and inequality in development.
