The book is concerned with social exclusion in India, viewing it as a structural process and coming up with strategies for addressing practices that lead to social exclusion. Scholars here examine the issue in the background of the complex mosaic of Indian society that is embedded with exclusionary practices and structures especially marginalisation on the basis of caste.
