In the first chapter under the heading "Plants described" about 335 plants have been included with their botanical names, family and English and Hindi names. A short description, distribution and remarks are also given. The chapter second includes 14 appendices wherein about 200 substitute and adulterant plants of betelnuts, belladonna, boxwood, chirata, coffee, digitalis, ipecac, gentian root, opium, quinine, rubber, soap, tea and tobacco are listed separately. More than 200 illustrations have been presented for identification.
