Located in the National Capital Region of India, the district of Baghpat forms a part of the Uttar Pradesh state of the country. This micro-level study brings into limelight the Baghpat district by examining through intensive field surveys the current availability of irrigation means, their impact on agricultural development and the socio-economic conditions of the farmers of the District, and also the regional inequalities in the level of irrigational and cropping patterns. The study concludes with a set of suggestions for improving irrigational facilities in the study area, based on its findings.
