This book presents the report of excavations undertaken by Prof. Niraml Kumar Bose and Prof. Dharani Sen in Mayurbhanj. Describing the discovery of the Palaeolithic site at Kuliana, Mayurbhanj, it deals with the geographical and geological observations at Kuliana, and observations in connection with the Burhabalang River.

Further it with the cases of natural flaking at Kamarpal, excavation and tools recovered in Situ, classification and description of tools, and statistical study of tools not found in Situ. The photographs of the excavation sites and the objects found there also make part of the book.
