Synopsis We have been neglecting the practical side of Horticulture inspite of the fact that area under such crops has increased. This has led to less production in comparison to other countries. Moreover, the quality of our produce is also below the normal standards. A need was felt to prepare a book to create an awareness among the growers, producers, planners, teachers, students and consumers, about the recent techniques developed by the universities and other agencies. In the present book "Encyclopaedia of Practical Horticulture" a set of 4 volumes has been brought out. An effort has been made to consolidate the latest technical know-how regarding the production, protection and preservation of Fruits, Vegetables, Ornamental Plants and Ornamental Trees, in a simple language so that our half-hearted approach towards the cultivation of various horticultural crops is shed.
