If one has to name one aspect of mining of minerals that is long neglected, not that other aspects are much better off, though- it must be underground mining of metallic ores, stones and others. While the global appetite for metallic ores has been going on undiminished, there clearly is a lackadaisical attitude among the professionals to create new contents around the subject. In terms of research and development not much is happening, much more is required, but whatever happening must be brought to the fore to rekindle interest in this important subjects.
