Synopsis The book covers both marine and inland fish production technologies and their economic evaluation. It also provides the methods of costs estimation in fisheries and conceptual frame work of structural chage study. The far reaching effects of mechanisation of fishing carfts and modernization of production technologies coupled with trade liberalization policies of Government of India, have made the fishing communities vulnerable. Hence the authors had presented in this book the effects of mechanisation and modernization on productivity, profitability and employment aspects in fisheries sector, vis-a-ris the vulnerability of fishing activities.
