The book defines falsity (mithyatva) and deals with the Advaita concept of falsity by delving into the ideas of Padmapada, Prakashatmayati, Anandabodha and Citsukha on falsity. Based on the Upanishadic and Advaita Vedanta views on the world, it presents the Advaita view of empirical reality delving into the positions and concepts espoused by the Vivarana school on phenomenal reality, Sureshvara and Bhamati school on empirical reality. It takes up diverse concepts of reality in the Advaita perspective: Advaita view of reality as existence, reality as consciousness and reality as bliss. It throws light on the differences between various views on reality given by different philosophers and schools of ancient India such as Prakashatman and the Sarvajnat man and compares the Buddhist and Advaita Vedantin views on reality as well.
