Corruption in Governance
The book focuses on ethical values as a need to remove corruption from the social, economic and political system. It takes up issues like compulsory voting, the link between corruption and inequality, and the extent to which an accuse can demand information under the RTI Act. It studies aspects relating to the RTI Act such as the Supreme Court pronouncements on it and some of the best practices on RTI and its link with good governance. It examines Indian legislation with respect to corruption and governance-related issues in detail. It dwells on the Whistleblowers Protection Act 2011 and its implications for whistleblowers. With graphs and comparing the situation in countries, it also takes up the United Nations Convention Against Corruption 2003 for study.
