Ethnologia Tibetica presents anthropological research papers on Tibet by the author, which give singular insights into unusual aspects of social life on the roof of the world, such as charnel ground tradations, psychic sports or a study on the undeclared untouchables of Tibet. Narrations on the life of presents and herdsmen, humorous observations of Tibetan social behaviour patterns at the examples of gambling and love play, as well as expositions on sacred landscapes and pilgrimage sited with an extensive textual and historical study on Mount Kailaoea complement the author's cultural and sociological research based on extensive field studies over three decades in Tibet. The rich photo material by Andrea Loswries and Jens Benirschke illustrates these wondroud excursions into remote corners of the Snowland Tibet.
