This book is written for students to learn how to apply the Art of Healing and Service while working in a clinic. Doing clinic work is totally different to seeing patients in your own consulting room. Over the years this system happened. It is called the 'Open Book Method'. Cluttering the mind with thousands of minute details does not make a Homeopathy. Knowledge of homeopathy grows within you through experience over years of practice. Serve is the first word of Gurudev Shivananda's message: Serve-Love-Purify-Medicine-Realise. Service comes first. But service alone is nothing but cold charity. Love must be added -Serve with Love. In all this work, there must be feeling -an awareness that the person who has come to you needs to be reassured, needs your affection, needs your help. Swami Venkatesananda has said: "If the time comes when you have lost spirit behind your service at the clinics and it becomes just work-stop it. It is no longer service. But a tear drop of love for the patient from the Healer will help the patient and the healer too." Is it not wonderful to see how all is one? Here, when we are speaking of homoeopathy, one minute the Gita comes to mind and the next a Quotation from the Bible. Can you not feel this force, this Power? It is in us, in all animate and inanimate beings. It is in the words of Prophets, in the physical, in the spiritual, and in the minutest vibration, which when tested in a laboratory nothing is found. And yet it is. In the billions of galaxies beyond our small sun, moon and the nine planets -it is. As practitioners we must never forget this truth. Within you and your patients is this Life Force, and within your pillules is the same Life Force. Your work is to join together and make a triangle -you, the healer, the patient, and the Life Force -the Power that we call God. All three must be joined as one -matched as one, then and only then, will you be a Healer in the true sense of the word.
